“Well we have been together for 6yrs now and just recently got engaged. We also have an amazing and handsom little boy together he is four about to be five in July! We are each others bestfriends and couldn’t be more in love still after six years. Kody purposed to me on Valentines day..he had a police officer pull us over saying our car had been reported stollen and we needed to step out of the vehicle of course I was furious. Then he gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him while on the police car camera we were being recorded to have the purposal on video to show our family and friends.”

“I’ve known Brittney since high school but we never dated, never even considered it! After high school we each went our seperate ways and reconnected via facebook. It was kind of a long shot when I first started talking to her as I had accepted a position with the Kansas
City Kansas fire department and moved down here in July 2012. She had just accepted a position with Blank Childrens hospital as a RN in their NICU. After talking to her on there a few times she agreed to go get lunch with me since it’d been so long since we saw each other (Hooters for wings, her choice, she’s awesome). After that lunch we kept talking more and more often and on my birthday January 14th 2013 (easy to remember, i’m no dummy!) we officially started dating. I think we first said I love you maybe 3 months into dating, it was the first time in my life I ever had 110% confidence in something I was doing! The long distance part was terrible…I’d drive up to DM from KC on my off days and shed do the same but we made it work! Brittney began looking for jobs and finally got one down here at Shawnee Mission Medical Center again working in the NICU. We haven’t looked back once since the begining and continue to grow stronger every day!”

“Erik and I met in California. Erik is stationed on North Island Naval Base in San Diego. I was out visiting my sister and brother in law the summer we met. I was supposed to be meeting a guy that my sister and her friend had set up but God had other plans, I ended up falling for his room mate! With God at the center of our relationship we have been blessed to have made it through so much already including a six and a half month deployment in our short 16 months as a couple! I am so excited to be marrying the man He made for me! Our wedding is on the beach in Michigan…There will be a rustic beachy feel with some vintage vibes as well. The dresses are all different but the core colors we are going off of are blush rose and beige mix (though they are all different shades and styles) for the girls with lightish brown pants, white button up and suspenders for the guys! We are so stoked for our upcoming big day.”.

Joshua and Katie

“Josh and I have been dating for the past 2 years and 2 months. Josh would tell you I was the first girl he noticed when he walked into the campus BSU almost 4 years ago. I, on the other hand, don’t remember our first meeting, but I do remember the first time I heard him pray. It was his Christ centered heart that had me captivated and I remember thinking – “There is a man who loves God”. But, long story short, we both STUBBORNLY refused any attraction to each other. It was over the course of a few years, as we served beside each other at the BSU and on mission trips, that God slowly melted our prideful hearts. I found myself head over heels in love with him before I knew what happened! But God knew what He was doing all along. I can’t imagine a more perfect (for me), kind, Christ-following, servant-hearted, gentle, strong, cute!, completely un-color coordinated, raggedy man for me. I’m so excited to be marrying my best friend!
We just got engaged on Valentine’s Day, so our wedding planning has only just started. Josh and I want to plan it together, and we both have the same vision of an outdoor, sunset, underneath God’s creation venue. We want our wedding to be filled with joy and lots of dancing! Our general theme is “The Best Stories in Life are True”. I’d like to incorporate true stories and happy endings into our wedding celebration. That would include representing the Author of Life Himself and making Jesus (the ultimate groom) the highlight of the wedding. It would also include showing pictures of our families’ happily “ever afters”: my parents who have been married 28 years and Josh’s grandparents who are well into their 80’s…and still happily married!) And finally, it would include our own love story. Fun fact: Josh and I had given each other the nicknames “Mr. Hare & Miss Turtle” before we even started dating. Since it was taken from the story of the tortoise and the hare, I would like to have subtle fairy tale decorations throughout our wedding and use books as decor. Think: Woodsy, vintage, colorful, unique. (For example, part of my story includes being born in California. I’d like to include cactus in my bouquet!)”

I’m sure Jamie K! will giving them a most memorable portfolio of pictures of their wedding day they will cherish forever. I have known Mike since he was a baby, and he has grown into a very nice, hard working young man. We wish the very best for Mike and Brittneys future together.
