Week 27 Pregnancy | Baby #2

Hello and Happy Friday!

As promised, here is a pregnancy update. Today ends week 27 pregnancy. Our little one is growing something crazy!

HOW I AM FEELING:

  • Diastasis Recti aka abdominal separation is painful! At our 24 week appointment our Nurse-Midwife told me that ‘pain’ I was feeling is my abs ripping apart. Yummy! This article has a painful looking photograph of what my abs are up to. I have learned to hold together the very top of my stomach/ab area when I sneeze, which seems to help the pain. When describing the feeling to others, I have referred to it as the feeling when your foot goes numb and tingles, plus a slow tearing feeling like a pulled muscle. Some days I have no pain, other days it is achy.

  • Pregnancy hormones are no joke. One day, when I was cranky, I told Cody that “Jamie” really wasn’t upset. Instead, this pregnancy monster that was taking over my emotions was the cranky one. 😉

WHAT I AM CRAVING:

  • Everything. Baby must be growing because I cannot get enough food.

MY EMOTIONS:

  • Baby has been very active, which is such a blessing! Cody felt baby move at week 24. This week he got to see baby move on the outside aka my stomach area looked like a, “bowl full of jelly.”

HOW YOU CAN BE PRAYING:

  • Health! Today I have my 28 week gestational diabetes glucose test. Instead of the standard, gross, completely unhealthy orange drink I am doing the Jelly Bean test. This article also lists some alternatives. (There are lots of alternatives if you prefer not to drink that junk. Do not be afraid to speak up and ask your health care provider!)

27+ Weeks,

Jamie
